the satdharma curriculum
Patrick Sweeney, Trimé Lhawang is the holder of the unique transmission of the Karma Kagyü lineage of Tibetan Buddhism given by the Venerable Vidyadhara, Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche to the Vajra Regent Ösel Tendzin, and by him to Mr. Sweeney.
Mr. Sweeney continues the lineage, offering teachings imbued with his own realization and scholarship. His emphasis on integrating the psychological and physical energetic fields of awareness into the Buddhist path of study and practice is at the heart of what Satdharma offers. His teachings transmit the essence of the Buddhist path in a way that is wholly relevant to contemporary students and the culture in which they live.
Satdharma's curriculum guides students through teachings on egolessness and compassion. Students may then elect to go further and enter the Vajrayana path of study and practice. This path emphasizes continuity of awareness and the further opening of the heart of compassion. The meditative and contemplative tradition of Mahamudra training is a particular focus of the Satdharma curriculum and is taught from the beginning.
